## Summary

On current `main` (`5d1fe67644458242c8cd22fcbddc7d94f1ee124d` on 2026-08-12), AgentWallet's x402 payment paths treat `scheme: "upto"` like an upfront exact transfer of the full authorized maximum.

That breaks `upto` semantics and can overcharge the buyer relative to actual usage.
