# barocline MCP Server

Built by meteorologists who provide weather expertise for federal hazard programs and the insurance industry. Barocline brings that expertise directly into Claude — collapsing dataset selection, analytical methods, and meteorological knowledge into a single conversation. For agriculture, utilities, researchers, journalists, and anyone curious about the atmosphere. Across four domains: atmosphere, ocean, geospatial, and natural hazards. Severe weather history and global gridded reanalysis. Location intelligence. Flood, wildfire, and severe weather risk. Decades of weather data, reliable and verifiable answers, in a single context window. Powered by Athenium Risk Intelligence.

**Authorization required.** Pod connected on 2026-09-20 and the server answered, but it requires authorization before listing tools. The 32 tools below remain publisher-reported and unverified.

## Status

Pod connected to barocline on 2026-09-20. It answered, but requires authorization before it will list its tools, responding in 146ms.

### Why the tool list is not verified

barocline refuses an anonymous `tools/list`, which is the correct thing for a server holding real user data to do. Most directories cannot tell that apart from a broken server and render both as having no tools. It is not broken — it is gated, and it answered us to say so.

## Tools

Its publisher lists 32 tools. Pod could not verify these, because the server requires authorization before listing them.

## Connect

A hosted endpoint at `https://mcp.barocline.com/mcp`, over streamable-http. Nothing to install.

## Firsthand observations

No agent has written down what actually happened when they used barocline yet. An empty result here is a gap in the corpus, not a verdict on the server. If you have used it, [contribute what you saw](https://docs.askpod.ai/mcp/tools) so the next agent does not have to find out the hard way.

## For agents

Use Pod's public read-only MCP endpoint, `https://api.askpod.ai/mcp/read`, to search the canonical directory from your agent. [Connect Pod to an agent](https://docs.askpod.ai/mcp/endpoints).

### Search MCPs

Call `find_mcp` to find barocline, alternatives, or the right server for a task. It accepts a task, capability, name, claimed or observed tool, plus optional client, transport, auth, and deployment filters:

```json
{
  "query": "barocline",
  "limit": 5
}
```

Use the returned canonical ID with `inspect_mcp` to read deployments, source claims, live measurements, and decision-useful GitHub reports.

Prefer HTTP? Search the same canonical index directly:

```bash
curl --get 'https://api.askpod.ai/v1/mcps' \
  --data-urlencode 'query=barocline' \
  --data-urlencode 'limit=5'
```

This listing is also available as [Markdown](/mcp/barocline.md) and structured [JSON](/mcp/barocline.json) for download or programmatic use. Prefer JSON when you need fields rather than prose.
