Installing via npx @delorenj/mcp-server-trello@latest or bunx @delorenj/mcp-server-trello@latest fails immediately with:

I can no longer call the MCP server using npx, it was working fine in 1.7.1

### Feature request: Allow card retrieval to take a label filter

I'm using Trello to manage work for my personal projects. Currently I have just a single Triage and Kanban board I use for all my projects. I separate work for the projects by label. A fraction of the cards (especially in Inbox) is for a single project. Right now Claude does a post filter of the result set, but that's not ideal because it takes longer and burns tokens.

I think this would fit best in `get_cards_by_list_id`. Looking at that tool, I think that two more filters could be warranted:

### Add optional pos parameter to move_card tool to control card position within target list (supports 'top', 'bottom', or numeric value)

Is it possible to when using Move_Card to pass the pos in the target list as detailed below? I'd like Done cards at the top, now Claude seems to insert them randomly.  Love this by the way, thanks!

When moving a card to a new list via move_card, there's no way to specify where in the target list the card should land. Currently it seems to land in an unpredictable position (middle of the list).
The Trello API supports a pos parameter that accepts:

"top" - places card at top of list
"bottom" - p

### Missing create_checklist Action

Tried to add a checklist via mcp3_add_checklist_item, but the call fails when the checklist doesn’t already exist. There’s no MCP endpoint to create one, so the flow stalls.

**Why it matters:**
Any automation relying on MCP must still create the checklist manually in Trello first.

**Ask:**
Expose a create_checklist action (card ID + name) so agents can spin up a checklist before adding items.

Feature Request: Add support for Trello card comments

The current MCP server for Trello doesn't appear to have functionality for working with card comments. It would be very useful to have the ability to:

  • Add comments to cards
  • Read/list comments on cards
  • Update comments (if supported by Trello API)
  • Delete comments (if needed)

Use Case

When managing tasks and projects in Trello, comments are essential for:

  • Tracking progress updates
  • Recording status changes
  • Team communication

Feature request: expose pos parameter on card tools (add / move / update)

he Trello REST API supports a pos parameter on the card endpoints (POST /cards, PUT /cards/{id}) that accepts "top", "bottom", or a positive number to control where a card sits within its list. Add tool to reorder lists on a board (update_list_position)

Problem

There is currently no way to reorder lists on a board through the MCP server. Trello supports this via PUT /1/lists/{listId}/pos, but no tool exposes this functionality.

This limits AI agents that need to reorganize Kanban columns — for example, reordering workflow stages or prioritizing lists visually.

Feature Request: Add dueReminder parameter to card creation and update

Description

Currently, add_card_to_list and update_card_details do not support the dueReminder parameter. This makes it impossible to set due date reminders via API.

Current Behavior

When creating a card with a due date:

  • ✅ dueDate is supported
  • ❌ dueReminder is not supported

Users must manually set reminders in Trello web/app after card creation.

### Feature Request: fields and filters arguments for list_boards tool

When using the list_boards tool on a chat that already has plenty of context, the response to this tool call is often too large. In most cases, the LLM is looking for the board ID to go along with a board name I referenced, so I think it would be useful to use an argument on this tool call to specify which board fields to return rather than returning the full board objects (that would probably also conserve token usage significantly).
