# Reported issues for Nordic Financial MCP

Pod holds 7 of 7 problems reported by people outside the maintainer team. Issues filed by the project's own owners, members and collaborators are excluded entirely — a maintainer's release checklist is not a warning to a prospective user.

### parse_pdf_to_text cannot parse iXBRL/xHTML annual reports (ESEF format)

## Description

Nordic annual reports filed under EU ESEF regulation are in iXBRL/xHTML format, not PDF. `parse_pdf_to_text` cannot parse these files.

## Workaround

Use `search_filings` with `report_type='annual_report'` and the relevant ticker filter. Annual reports from Nordic listed companies are already indexed and do not need to be parsed manually.

## Affected companies

All Nordic listed companies filing under ESEF (mandatory since 2020): Oslo Børs, Nasdaq Stockholm, Nasdaq Copenhagen,

### pymupdf breaks build in restricted/containerized environments

`pymupdf` was listed in `requirements.txt` but fails to install in restricted build environments (e.g. Glama) due to binary wheel incompatibilities.

**Expected:** `pip install -r requirements.txt` succeeds in clean environments.
**Actual:** Build fails on `pymupdf` install.

**Fix:** Removed `pymupdf` from `requirements.txt`. PDF parsing uses `pypdf` instead, which installs cleanly everywhere.

### Glama Inspector connection fails: missing Accept header causes NetworkError

Connecting to the MCP server via Glama Inspector failed with a `NetworkError`. Root cause: FastMCP requires `Accept: application/json, text/event-stream` but many clients (including Glama Inspector) omit it.

**Expected:** Inspector connects successfully.
**Actual:** NetworkError on connection attempt.

**Fix:** Added `AcceptPatchMiddleware` that patches incoming requests missing the required Accept header. Also added `stateless_http=True` for broader client compatibility.

### CI workflow times out: heavy ML dependencies installed for syntax check only

The CI workflow (`ci.yml`) installed the full ML stack (sentence-transformers, torch, fastembed) just to run a syntax check. This caused GitHub Actions to time out or fail, which blocked Glama from detecting a passing CI build.

**Expected:** CI completes quickly for a basic syntax/import check.
**Actual:** Multi-GB torch install caused timeout/failure.

**Fix:** Only install lightweight deps (`fastmcp`, `httpx`) needed for the import check.

### company_analysis prompt: missing power price hint for energy-intensive companies

## Description

The `company_analysis` prompt does not mention `get_current_power_price` even for companies where electricity costs are a key value driver (aluminium smelters, salmon farming, steel, data centres).

This causes AI agents to omit power price context from due diligence reports for companies like Norsk Hydro, Elkem, Mowi and similar.

## Expected behavior

The prompt should include a hint: if the company is energy-intensive, also fetch current power prices using `get_current_power_p

### get_company_info: Sweden (Bolagsverket) not yet implemented

## Description

`get_company_info` supports Norway (Brønnøysund), Denmark (CVR) and Finland (PRH), but not Sweden. Calling with `country='SE'` returns an unsupported error.

## Expected behavior

Add support for Bolagsverket API to enable Swedish company registry lookups, consistent with the other Nordic countries.

## Workaround

Use `search_filings` with `country='SE'` and the company name as query to find filings.
