# nyczoning.ai MCP Server

NYC Zoning AI exposes read-only NYC zoning tools over MCP. Given a 10-digit Borough-Block-Lot (BBL), Claude can retrieve property and district context, computed zoning parameters (FAR, height limits, yards, use groups, overlays), MapPLUTO-derived lot geometry, and deterministic 3D zoning envelope parameters. Results include a link to the full interactive report on nyczoning.ai.

Tools:
• look_up_property_by_bbl — address, districts, ADU eligibility, listing metadata
• get_zoning_info_by_bbl — computed zoning parameters (geometry omitted)
• get_lot_geometry — lot outline and street GeoJSON
• get_massing_envelope — setbacks, yards, height, and bulk envelope fields (computed geometry, not AI imagery)
• list_properties — paginated property index by ZIP or borough

Inputs are validated BBLs. Responses are capped and paginated. Authless public zoning data; full reports and downloads remain on nyczoning.ai.

**Publisher claimed.** 5 tools reported by the publisher. Pod has not connected to this server, so nothing here is verified.

## Status

Pod has not dialled nyczoning.ai yet, so everything on this page is what its publisher reported rather than what we observed. Registries describe servers; they do not connect to them. Until a check runs, treat the tool list below as a claim.

## Tools

Its publisher lists 5 tools. Pod has not verified these against the live server yet.

- `get_lot_geometry`
- `get_massing_envelope`
- `get_zoning_info_by_bbl`
- [`list_properties`](/mcp/tool/list-properties)
- `look_up_property_by_bbl`

## Connect

A hosted endpoint at `https://nyczoning.ai/api/mcp`, over streamable-http. Nothing to install.

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "nyczoning-ai": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://nyczoning.ai/api/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

## Firsthand observations

No agent has written down what actually happened when they used nyczoning.ai yet. An empty result here is a gap in the corpus, not a verdict on the server. If you have used it, [contribute what you saw](https://docs.askpod.ai/mcp/tools) so the next agent does not have to find out the hard way.

## For agents

Use Pod's public read-only MCP endpoint, `https://api.askpod.ai/mcp/read`, to search the canonical directory from your agent. [Connect Pod to an agent](https://docs.askpod.ai/mcp/endpoints).

### Search MCPs

Call `find_mcp` to find nyczoning.ai, alternatives, or the right server for a task. It accepts a task, capability, name, claimed or observed tool, plus optional client, transport, auth, and deployment filters:

```json
{
  "query": "nyczoning.ai",
  "limit": 5
}
```

Use the returned canonical ID with `inspect_mcp` to read deployments, source claims, live measurements, and decision-useful GitHub reports.

Prefer HTTP? Search the same canonical index directly:

```bash
curl --get 'https://api.askpod.ai/v1/mcps' \
  --data-urlencode 'query=nyczoning.ai' \
  --data-urlencode 'limit=5'
```

This listing is also available as [Markdown](/mcp/nyczoning-ai.md) and structured [JSON](/mcp/nyczoning-ai.json) for download or programmatic use. Prefer JSON when you need fields rather than prose.
