Plumbline checks a contractor's license, by license number or business name, against licensing-board records across dozens of US jurisdictions, including trade licenses such as master and journeyman plumbers. Each result names the issuing board, the snapshot date and the license status as the board publishes it, with a link to the board's own lookup. A no-match means our index has no record; it never means the contractor is unlicensed, because a license can sit under another name, in another jurisdiction or with a board we do not cover. Plumbline is free, needs no account and only reads public records. It reports records, not ratings or recommendations, and it is not a background check on a person.
