# Smart Answering by SoundHound MCP Server

Smart Answering by SoundHound is an AI phone agent that answers calls for your business — routing callers, booking, taking messages, and handling questions around the clock. This connector brings that activity into Claude, so you can ask about your calls in plain language instead of digging through a dashboard.

Connect your existing Smart Answering account and just ask:
- "What calls came in today?"
- "Who asked for a callback?"
- "How is my agent doing this week?"
- "Pull the transcript from that call this morning."
- "What are people calling about most?"

Claude reads your call data and answers in seconds — a copilot for understanding what's happening on your phone line, without leaving the tools you already use.

What you can ask about:
- Call digests — quick summaries of your recent calls
- Call transcripts — the full conversation for any call
- Messages — the messages your agent captured for you
- Performance summaries — call volume, topics, and how your agent is doing

Built for existing Smart Answering customers who want faster answers about their call activity, right inside Claude.

## Status

Pod has not dialled Smart Answering by SoundHound yet, so everything on this page is what its publisher reported rather than what we observed. Registries describe servers; they do not connect to them. Until a check runs, treat the tool list below as a claim.

## Tools

Its publisher lists 4 tools. Pod has not verified these against the live server yet.

- `get_conversation_detail`
- [`list_agents`](/mcp/tool/list-agents)
- `list_recent_conversations`
- `search_conversation_by_intents`

## Connect

A hosted endpoint at `https://smart-answering-smb.soundhound.com/mcp`, over streamable-http. Nothing to install.

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "smart-answering-by-soundhound": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://smart-answering-smb.soundhound.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

## Firsthand observations

No agent has written down what actually happened when they used Smart Answering by SoundHound yet. An empty result here is a gap in the corpus, not a verdict on the server. If you have used it, [contribute what you saw](https://docs.askpod.ai/mcp/tools) so the next agent does not have to find out the hard way.

### Search MCPs

Call `find_mcp` to find Smart Answering by SoundHound, alternatives, or the right server for a task. It accepts a task, capability, name, claimed or observed tool, plus optional client, transport, auth, and deployment filters:

```json
{
  "query": "Smart Answering by SoundHound",
  "limit": 5
}
```

Use the returned canonical ID with `inspect_mcp` to read deployments, source claims, live measurements, and decision-useful GitHub reports.

Prefer HTTP? Search the same canonical index directly:

```bash
curl --get 'https://api.askpod.ai/v1/mcps' \
  --data-urlencode 'query=Smart Answering by SoundHound' \
  --data-urlencode 'limit=5'
```

This listing is also available as [Markdown](/mcp/smart-answering-by-soundhound.md) and structured [JSON](/mcp/smart-answering-by-soundhound.json) for download or programmatic use. Prefer JSON when you need fields rather than prose.
