The test in tests/getAllActivities.toolFilter.test.ts expects " - Run - " in the output, but formatActivitySummary() was updated to use the format ${type} ${name} (ID: ${id}) - ${distance} in ${duration} on ${date}.

I tried to install this on my partner’s laptop, it failed silently until I installed nodejs.

README/Installation instructions should mention this dependency and link to the official nodejs website with supported installation methods.

Hosting on Glama not working

When hosting on Glama.ai I am (naturally) never prompted for authentication, and therefore I am not able to provide scopes for the access token. In turn I am never able to retrieve the necessary scope to retrieve activities, which is kind of the whole point.

This MCP Server is really good, but unfortunately only for local use with Claude desktop.

Extreme slowness after analyzing ride

There may be some kind of memory leak or issue causing slow performance. I have noticed when connecting claude to this MCP server, after some data is pulled, specifically when getting "activity streams", claude becomes almost unusably slow. Any idea why this might be? I thought it was Claude at first, but it only happens when on a chat where this MCP server is connected.

Is this mcp server still being maintained? I could try and take a look later on.

Can't get entire history

Looking at the getRecentActivities.ts tool, an LLM would not be able to fetch a user's complete activity history with this implementation.

Current Limitations:

  1. No pagination support - The tool only accepts a perPage parameter (default 30) but doesn't support pagination parameters like page or after/before timestamps. The Strava API returns activities in pages, so you can only get one page at a time.

Large 64-bit IDs corrupted by JS number parsing (segment-effort IDs unusable)

Strava's 19-digit segment-effort IDs (~2.8×10¹⁸) exceed JavaScript's safe-integer range (2⁵³). stravaClient.ts parses responses with the default JSON.parse and no big-int handling, so these IDs are silently rounded — e.g. …351160 becomes …351000. Two consequences:

  1. list-segment-efforts returns corrupted effort IDs (observable: every returned ID ends in 00/000).
  2. get-segment-effort can't be reached for those efforts — its effortId param is z.number().int(), so even a correct ID is re-truncat

I see the fix is already merged into the main branch. #35 but the latest npm package 1.2.0 still have this bug.

harmonize ID and boolean input handling across all MCP tools for client compatibility

Problem

MCP clients like Claude and Cowork transmit all tool parameters as JSON strings, even when the schema declares type: "integer" or type: "boolean". This causes Zod validation to reject valid inputs before they reach the server logic.

Additionally, zod-to-json-schema generates type: "integer" for z.number().int(), which strict clients validate client-side and reject string values like "17845129778" before even calling the server.

No recovery way when incorrect OAuth credentials are entered

Core issue

If invalid credentials are entered once during authentication, Strava's authentication error page will repeatedly appear. Recovery is extremely difficult.

sequence of steps in the readme

Take note it is necessary to first install, then configure in Claude's config ,then do the strava auth flow and finally do a reboot of Claude. otherwise the .env variables won't be read by Claude. Nice stuff!
