### Reduce country names to decrease prompt size

Can you reduce the number of country names or change the prompt in your mcp on https://github.com/tavily-ai/tavily-mcp/blob/main/src/index.ts. 
We are planning to use your mcp server for our app, reducing the country names can reduce the context size by about 1k tokens. This will definitely reduce our costs as we are planning to use an expensive model

### [Q&A] How to set the default args value?

I am using the mcp server like below:

### Use `Authorization` header instead of query param

Configuring a tool that can only use remote MCPs with Tavily is a bit weird because you're essentially forced to leak your API token to everyone in the organization

It would be better if Tavily supported the industry standard header `Authorization: Bearer <token />` or even a non-standard header.

### proxy support?

Do you have any plans to support proxy?

We are testing mcp/tavily, but it seems that the functionality to call the Tavily API through a proxy using the http_proxy or https_proxy environment variables has not been implemented. Since we are considering auditing through a proxy in our MCP operations, it would be greatly appreciated if you could add support for this. Thank you.

### Error getting tool list when using tavily-mcp in VSCode Continue extension

Got error when using VSCode Continue to call tavily-mcp@0.1.4

Message: 
`Error loading resources for MCP Server Tavily Search: MCP error -32601: Method not found`

Install command:
`npm i -g tavily-mcp`

Continue command:
`npx -y tavily-mcp@0.1.4`

Developer Tools' Console message:
`Tavily MCP server running on stdio`

Simple test for this error:

### OAuth login fails with CloudFront 403 when Google profile picture URL is long

## Summary

Browser OAuth for the remote MCP server (`https://mcp.tavily.com/mcp/`) fails for some Google accounts. After approving with Google, the redirect to `https://app.tavily.com/api/mcp_account_creation?session_token=...&state=...` is blocked by CloudFront/WAF with a generic 403 "Request blocked" page before it reaches the app.

Root cause: the `session_token` JWT embeds the user's Google `picture` claim. For accounts whose Google profile-picture URL is the long signed `lh3.googleusercont

### Server is missing an `instructions` field, leaving agents with no guidance on which tool to use or how they combine

`tavily-mcp` advertises five overlapping tools (`tavily_search`, `tavily_research`, `tavily_extract`, `tavily_crawl`, `tavily_map`) but provides **no server-level `instructions`** and **no resources/prompts**. The only guidance available is five isolated per-tool descriptions. As a result, agents frequently pick the wrong tool or misuse tools (especially `tavily_extract` and `tavily_research`), because nothing tells them *which* tool to start with or *how the tools combine*.

### tavily_search returns HTTP 400 behind an HTTP proxy

When an HTTP forward proxy is configured via HTTPS_PROXY (e.g. HTTPS_PROXY=http://127.0.0.1:7890), every tool call fails with:

Tavily API error: Request failed with status code 400

The 400 is not returned by the Tavily API. It is returned by the nginx reverse proxy in front of api.tavily.com, because the bundled axios (1.16.0) sends the request as plaintext HTTP to port 443 instead of establishing a CONNECT tunn

### 工具名重复 tavily_ 前缀，MCP 框架已有命名空间隔离

MCP 宿主会自动给工具名加上服务器名前缀，避免冲突（如 rag_search = 服务器 rag + 工具 search）。但 Tavily MCP 的工具名内部又带了一遍 tavily_ ，导致接入后变成 tavily_tavily_search ，双重冗余。

当前（src/index.ts）工具名：
- tavily_search
- tavily_extract
- tavily_crawl
- tavily_map
- tavily_research

是否有考虑去掉内部的 tavily_ 前缀？这样框架补上命名空间后就是干净的 tavily_search 、tavily_extract 等。

对比： rag MCP 服务器内部就叫 search ，拼出来是 rag_search ，不会有双前缀问题。

同情况似乎也存在于 tavily-ai/tavily-mcp-python 。
