# Vaquill AI Primary Law. MCP Server
Vaquill AI gives Claude direct access to United States primary law, ingested from official government sources and cited back to them.
COVERAGE. The United States Code, the Code of Federal Regulations, all 50 state statutory codes plus DC and Puerto Rico, state administrative regulations, federal and state court rules, federal and state constitutions, federal agency guidance from 51 named sources, agency adjudications, the Statutes at Large, and the Federal Register. Roughly 4.98 million sections.
WHAT IT DOES.
- Search every corpus at once, or scope to one jurisdiction, one body of law, or one status.
- Resolve a citation such as "42 U.S.C. 1983" to the exact provision it names, singly or in batches.
- Read the operative text of a section, with the source credit and notes apparatus separated out.
- Read a section as it stood on a past date, and see what changed between two dates.
- Walk a code's hierarchy; find the sections that cite a provision, the terms it defines, its neighbours, and the equivalent rule in other states.
- Watch a body of law and be told when it changes.
WHY IT IS DIFFERENT. Every result carries its official source URL, the publisher's own status for that section, and a derived good-law verdict that reports "unknown" rather than over-claiming where currency cannot be vouched for. Coverage is self-describing, so Claude can check what is actually held for a jurisdiction before reading an empty result as an absence of law. Text comes from the publisher, not a scraped aggregator.

### Why the tool list is not verified
Vaquill AI Primary Law. refuses an anonymous `tools/list`, which is the correct thing for a server holding real user data to do. Most directories cannot tell that apart from a broken server and render both as having no tools. It is not broken — it is gated, and it answered us to say so.
