# VerseDB MCP Server
VerseDB (versedb.com) is a comic book database and collection tracker covering over 1.1 million issues across 154,000 series: comics, manga, manhwa, manhua, graphic novels and bande dessinée from Marvel, DC, Image, Dark Horse, BOOM!, IDW and nearly 10,000 other publishers. This server connects Claude to the catalog and to your own VerseDB account.
Comic database search: find and look up titles, series, issues, creators (writers, artists, colorists, letterers, cover artists), characters, publishers, teams, story arcs, crossover events, universes, comic conventions, local comic shops and comic podcasts. A Title is a franchise (Batman), a Series is one volume or run (Batman (2016)), and an Issue is a single book in that run.

Comic collection management:
- Collection tracker: catalog the comics you own with grade and condition, track what your collection is worth, find gaps in your runs
- Pull list: follow ongoing series and see what's coming out each week
- Reading tracker: mark issues read and see how far through a run you are
- Lists: build reading lists, wish lists and ranked lists
- Reviews: review issues and rate whole series from 1 to 5 stars in half-star steps
Ask in plain language: "what's the reading order for Saga", "what is Amazing Spider-Man #300 worth", "what's on my pull list this week", "add Absolute Batman #1 to my collection", "rate the Saga series 5 stars".
Sign in with your VerseDB account over OAuth. Every tool, including search, requires a VerseDB Pro subscription.

### Why the tool list is not verified
VerseDB refuses an anonymous `tools/list`, which is the correct thing for a server holding real user data to do. Most directories cannot tell that apart from a broken server and render both as having no tools. It is not broken — it is gated, and it answered us to say so.
