Reported issues for MCP Database Server

Pod holds 8 of 8 problems reported by people outside the maintainer team. Issues filed by the project's own owners, members and collaborators are excluded entirely — a maintainer's release checklist is not a warning to a prospective user.

Multiple database connections support

When used via Docker Desktop i can only have one instance with one DATABASE_URL

ideally I'd love to be able to have more than one database there

cannot unset DATABASE_URL

in the dockerfile we have

ENV DATABASE_URL=sqlite+aiosqlite:///data/default.db

so how can we unset it to read configs from db_host etc instead ??

Add ARM64 Docker image for docker mcp-toolkit

I noticed that your project has been included in Docker Desktop's mcp-toolkit, but I'm unable to use it. The issue seems to be that you haven't uploaded an ARM architecture image. Could you please push an ARM image to Docker Hub when you have a chance? Thanks!

Not listening on port 8000 (or any other port)

Run with SQLite (simplest setup) docker run -d
-p 8000:8000
-e DATABASE_URL=sqlite+aiosqlite:///data/mydb.db
souhardyak/mcp-db-server# Run with SQLite (simplest setup)

I have tried this and also tried using the docker compose example.

In both cases, the container doesn't appear to have started anything that listens on 8000. The /health endpoint does not respond. I have gone into the container and run netstat and lsof to check open ports.

There might be an issue with accessing columns in describe_table

Hi, and thank you for this MCP!

I tried to use get_database_schema resource with a MySQL database, and I got the following error:

2025-10-18 15:22:56.195 [error] Error reading resource 'database://schema': MCP error 0: calling "resources/read": Error reading resource database://schema: Could not locate column in row for column 'column_name'

I'm not a Python dev, but after some digging I believe the issue might be [here](https://github.com/Souhar-dya/mcp-db-server/blob/d47b7ae3bf16e
