Octopus AI MCP Server

Octopus is an AI FP&A analyst that works where finance teams already talk: Microsoft Teams, Slack, and any MCP-enabled AI tool.

Most finance teams spend close week chasing the same questions. Why is this account over budget? Is this overspend one-time, or will it carry into the forecast? Who approved it? Answers end up spread across emails, chats, and spreadsheets. By the next roll most of that context is gone, and the forecast gets rebuilt from memory.

Octopus closes that loop. It connects to your plans, forecasts, actuals, and transactions and keeps a live map of your organization: entities, departments, accounts, vendors, headcount, and the people responsible for each. After every close it compares forecast versions and actuals, finds the variances that matter, and sends clear, specific questions to the budget owners who can explain them. It follows up until each question is answered. It captures every answer as structured, searchable organizational memory, tied to the exact numbers it explains.

That memory keeps adding up. Octopus uses it to answer ad-hoc questions in plain language ("why is Marketing over plan in Q3?"), to drill from a headline gap down to the transactions behind it, and to draft the next rolling forecast. Every change in that draft is backed by a recorded rationale and the person who gave it. Forecast quality reports show how much of each movement is explained and how much is still an unexplained gap.

Octopus respects your access model. Every user sees only the data their role allows. Each customer's data stays isolated and encrypted. Every action the agent takes follows your team's confirmation rules.

The result: fewer chase emails, faster closes, and forecasts that come with the reasoning behind them.
